You Can Make An Impact

One of the ways that we grow in following Jesus is by serving.

Here you will find where your gifts and passions intersect with the needs of the church and the world.  There is something for everyone! We have lots of different ministries that are either community focused (mission) or church focused (ministry). We would love you to take a look at what’s on offer and volunteer your time and talents.

We believe that serving others shows the true heart of who we are. Serve is a step in our discipleship pathway to remind us that a disciple’s heart seeks to share the Gospel message and encounter a world that needs compassion, healing, and relief from suffering. God has prepared good works for us to do!

Imagine the transforming impact if our entire faith community abandoned their comfort zones and intentionally set out to encounter the world around us.

We are called to be His ambassadors who put their faith in action and seek the good for others.

Serve Ministries

  • It all begins with a warm welcome!

Help run a welcome event for those new to our parish community.

The ‘plus’ recognises that many of our existing parishioners may now be in a season of life where they want to become more fully engaged.

    Sunday Team:

We need volunteers to welcome people as they come to our church, to answer their questions, ensure they have what they need, and possibly find them a place to sit.

We also have a Welcome Desk that needs people to run it.

    New Parishioners:

We need people who will contact our new parishioners, answer their questions, and invite them to Welcome+ events

If you have the talents and skills to welcome people - we want to hear from you!

Please register your interest using the button.

  • The livestream of masses, funeral and weddings that we were forced into during the COVID period helped spread the word of the Gospel to a wider audience.

We want to continue and build on the positive aspects of live-streaming.

If you can be part of our rota, understand and enjoy the technical aspects - we would love to hear from you.

Please register your interest using the button.

  • As people get older and become unwell we want to ensure that they do not 'fall off the radar'. We recognise that people's needs differ and we want to care for our older parishioners in ways that best suit them. This will sometimes be through opportunities to meet, cross-generational activities, home visits, telephone conversations, and whatever practical help may be needed.

Do you have a special gift for helping or accompanying older people? Is there a project you would like to run and see flourish? Please get in touch.

Can you help with visiting the sick and taking them Holy Communion?

Could you organise a scheme whereby parishioners can invite people who might otherwise be isolated to Sunday lunch?

Could you help us develop a bereavement ministry?

Please register your interest using the button.

  • We want everyone who comes to our church to experience God's love through the warmth of welcome they receive.

Hospitality is the name we give to the ministry of those who recognise the importance of food in creating a welcoming environment.

Please register your interest using the button.

  • Liturgical ministries are all those activities associated with the smooth running of the Church's liturgy.

    Altar Serving:

We need altar servers for all our Masses. We also need someone to coordinate the servers and a Master of Ceremonies to train them.

    Reading:

We need people willing to be trained and to join a rota for proclaiming the Liturgy of the Word at Mass and for reading the Bidding Prayers.

    Sacristy:

We need sacristans to set up for Mass and to look after the altar linens.

    Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:

We need people who would be willing to be trained and commissioned by the Parish Priest to help with administering Holy Communion both at Mass and to the housebound.

Please register your interest using the button.

  • We need musicians and singers to join and enrich our music.

Maybe you play an instrument. Maybe you can sing. Or maybe you are great at organising others. Whatever it is, you can make all the difference.

Please register your interest using the button.

  • We are fortunate to have our own minibus. We need drivers to make full use of this for the benefit of the parish.

Can you drive a minibus? Most people can!

You can drive a minibus within the UK as long as the following conditions apply:

    you’re 21 or older

you’ve had your driving licence for at least 2 years

you meet the ‘Group 2’ medical standards if you’re over 70 - check with your GP if you’re not sure you meet the standards

you’re driving on a voluntary basis and the minibus is used for social purposes by a non-commercial body

the maximum weight of the minibus is not more than 3.5 tonnes - or 4.25 tonnes including specialist equipment for disabled passengers, for example a wheelchair ramp

    you’re not towing a trailer

Could you help plan the rota?

  • There are many families and individuals in our parish community that need occasional support. Plus there are charities in the wider community that we can help.

Are you someone with good organisational skills and who would enjoy helping others? We would love to hear from you.

Please register your interest using the button.

  • We are involved in charitable work of all kinds.

Our Members endeavour to exert influence in those issues rooted in social justice and peace and particularly seek to make the voice of Catholic women heard in the legislative system on issues of the Family.

The League offers members the opportunity to develop and learn new skills, enabling them to fulfil their mission of service to one another, to their parish and to the church.

We are a very supportive group in the parish and to one another. Most of all, we know how to have fun whether preparing for functions, holding meetings or just going out & enjoying each other’s company.

Please contact Pam Moore on 01442 252634 for more information.

We welcome new members, so come and join us. We usually meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month, at lunchtime at Our Lady Queen of All Creation.

  • Do you have the skills to write clear and persuasive text? Are creative with photography? Are you an online communicator who is aware of the power of good social media?

We need help to keep our website and online presence fresh, meaningful and at the core of all that we do.

    Can you help?

Please register your interest using the button.

Some of these will be via Zoom, most will be in person.

We have a good sized team, 6 in each group so cleaning comes around once a month.

The Church cleaning areas are divided into 6 areas so each person does one part of the church at a time.
