The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross or Via Crucis, is a  tradition,  in the Catholic Church, that commemorates the events of Good Friday.

It consists of a series of 14 stations, representing key moments from the time Jesus was condemned to his burial. Pilgrims or worshippers move from station to station, typically marked by images or representations, pausing at each one to reflect on the corresponding event.

The journey begins with Jesus being condemned to death and ends with his body being laid in the tomb. The Stations of the Cross serve as a devotional and reflective practice, allowing believers to meditate on the passion and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
